The rooms I love are quiet and hardworking. They lean on good bones, real materials, and a soft palette pulled from the landscape, then get their character from the details.

Millwork does the heavy lifting

Beadboard, wainscoting, paneled mudrooms, and built-in bookcases give a room structure before any furniture comes in.

Materials that get better with age

Brick and herringbone floors, walnut, aged oak, woven rush, and unlacquered brass.

Craft you notice up close

A scalloped bench apron, an inlaid parquet border, a turned newel post. Small moments that reward a second look.

Residential, with Altalux Studio

Private Residence

During the design process for this home, we wanted it to feel like it had been there for 100 years. I did this through sourcing and specification for lighting, plumbing fixtures, hardware, stone, and finishes, plus vendor and installer coordination through installation.

Porch Offices

At Porch, we wanted everything to feel luxurious, like stepping into a Ralph Lauren Polo lounge in New York. We exposed the cedar ceilings throughout so the existing structure could shine, then layered the space around it: deep charcoal walls let the wood glow, while olive trees, velvet and leather seating, stone tables, and layered lighting keep a large commercial floor feeling warm and residential.

My role: furniture, lighting, and plant sourcing, specification documentation, and delivery and installation coordination.

Personal project

Basement built-in sketches

Quick hand sketches from my own basement renovation, drawn to talk a cabinet maker through proportion, profiles, and depth. They are working sketches rather than finished documentation, which I produce in AutoCAD and SketchUp.

Library wall

Four bookcase bays with scalloped valances and picture lights, a beadboard-lined surround for an 85 inch framed TV with flanking sconces, and a full run of drawers and cupboards below. The countertop is stained dark brown against the painted cabinetry, the same walnut-on-paint pairing that runs through my board.

About

I'm an interior designer who loves the parts of a home you can't swap out later: the architecture, the millwork, and the materials that get better with age.

Today I'm an Interior Design Associate at Altalux Studio, a full-service firm doing high-end residential and commercial interiors. I work across the whole process, from space planning, FF&E sourcing, and material and lighting selection to design documentation, client presentations, and installation. Before that I designed and staged model homes at Brighton Homes, so I've seen how design decisions play out on a real build.

What I'm proudest of is getting projects across the finish line. I keep vendors, workrooms, installers, and manufacturers aligned on pricing, lead times, and specs, so the design a client falls in love with is the design that gets installed.

Next, I want to grow closer to the architecture and construction side and learn how great homes are built from the framing up.
